A Royal Hatting: Kate Middleton Dons the BC Hat

Just when we thought there were no words left with which to praise BC Hats, the darling Princess-to-be Kate Middleton is seen wearing none other than an original BC Hat. Actually, the photograph dates back to 2005 but it is such a fantastic find we had to share it with you.

Kate Middleton, graduate of University of St. Andrew's, was recently engaged to Prince William of Wales in October 2010 while on a trip with the Prince in East Africa. Heavily photographed since speculation of their relationship began at university, there is ample evidence of her style transformation from carefree bohemian to eclectic chic in adulthood. Middleton is often cited for her uniquely glamorous, classic English style. Who else has given great hats and head wear such fantastic exposure in recent years? Kate is almost always seen wearing stylish hats or fascinators no matter if she is attending a formal royal event or merely hunting pheasants in the sticks.

A healthy, smiling and bronzed Kate above demonstrates that the BC hat is not merely an object of utility but quite the fashion statement, too. Paired with pearls and a delicate blue sweater the rugged hat balances out the femininity of the outfit adding to Kate's fun, sporty demeanor. The quality construction of the BC hat looks just as fitting on the head of a royal-to-be as it does on adventurer in the Outback. With inspiration like this, where couldn't you wear your BC hat?

The Real Adventures of a Brown BC Stockman Hat

Previously blogged about Hat of All Hats, the BC Stockman Hat recently embarked on a European adventure. Lucky for us, Stockman has kept a careful log of his travels in both pictures and words. Here is his account of his adventure in Finland:

"Even though I am a very long way from my home in Australia, you can see the people of Helsinki welcomed me with open arms and even made a sign in my honor!

My friend Lari gave me hand up here so I could be in the shot. After that I decided to do some window shopping. Some hats are made to be out in the world roaming free, others prefer to stay behind glass...

I tried to get these hats to come out and join me, perhaps it was my poor Finnish language skills or maybe it was just too cold and wet for them. Oh well, the sights were amazing.

Beautiful golden churches, and the boats down at the harbor waiting to sail off into the cold Atlantic reminded me of my past sailing adventures, but that is a story best left for another time. Next stop mainland Europe, stay tuned."

The Hat for All of Us for the Adventure in Each of Us

To launch Adventure Hat’s awesome new blog we decided to showcase the quintessential adventure hat, a hat that speaks to the adventurer in all of us, a hat that reminds us of the wild spark within that pleads to be indulged in travel, exploration, and the exhilarating outdoors.

Ladies and gentleman, the BC Bac Pac Traveller Hat is a show-stealing sonofagun that’s always ready to seize the day. The same man who created Australia’s original leather hat handcrafts the Bac Pac Traveller in gorgeous, oily Australian leather. This hat literally smells like a steep climb up the face of Rendezvous Mountain and its soft leather feels like waking up right under the sunrise.

The classy profile of the Bac Pac Traveller is easily recognizable as the choice of true outdoorsmen and women, but will not be ruined if crumbled into your pack should you make the odd choice of taking it off of your head! Adaptable and fun to be around, this gentleman will swiftly pop back into its original shape.

True leather loyalists know why they prefer leather to almost any other material, from shoes to belts to your lap dog’s ottoman to, of course, hats. Leather quickly conforms to the wearer’s head, swiftly creating the feel of a custom fit. The luxe material is durable and could even outlast your kids’ years of adventure. It’s also insulating—keeping all of those dreams of outdoor escapades safe and sound in your warm little head.

Grand Teton National Forest
More popular than any other BC hat, the Bac Pac Traveller would be the perfect companion on your next backpacking trip. Its pop-back-into-place personality would never require special attention when it’s time to make camp. Its inner leather band will keep you comfortable whether you’re guiding a troop of energetic Scouts through the Grand Tetons or making a ten day trek through Chile and Argentina.

When you’re passionate about something you learn quickly that the right tools make all the difference in the world. As a heavy stainless steel pot is to the gourmet cook so is the Traveller to the budding and professional adventurer. More than almost any piece of backpacking gear, a good hat like the Traveller separates the starters from the finishers and the dreamers from the doers.

Take it out. Give it a go. Never look back.
